Stiesdal founder and CTO Henrik Stiesdal has been honoured with the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution to Wind Energy.
The award recognises Henrik’s decades-long contribution to the development of modern wind energy and his role in transforming wind power from an emerging technology into one of the world’s leading sources of renewable electricity.
From designing one of the first wind turbines based on the Danish concept in the late 1970s to pioneering innovations that continue to shape today’s onshore and offshore wind turbines, Henrik’s work has helped define the evolution of the global wind industry.
The recognition reflects not only an extraordinary individual career, but also the collective efforts of the engineers, researchers, manufacturers and industry partners who have worked together to advance wind energy over the past four decades.
